ABOUT

Family Services of Central Alberta offers a wide range of services for the whole family. We provide support to families at all stages of life through programing, education, and home support as well as fun drop in programming for young children and their caregivers. FSCA is proud to have knowledgeable councillors who can help individuals, families, or couples. We are also proud to provide both non-medical home support and engaging programing for Older Adults providing their caregivers with some respite for a few hours. Family Services of Central Alberta offers counselling as well as various courses that provide support to persons and families who are affected by Separation & Divorce issues. FOCIS on Communication In Separation is a voluntary 6 hour communication course for separated/divorced parents of young children who have at least one child under age 6. The program is sponsored by Alberta Family Justice Services. Topics include: - Effects of conflict on children - Understanding conflict - Anger - Listening skills - “I” Messages When: Monday/Wednesday evenings 2017/2018 Dates and Times: Monday/Wednesday Sept 25 & Sept 27, 2017 6:00pm – 9:00pm Monday/Wednesday Nov 27 & Nov 29, 2017 6:00pm – 9:00pm Monday/Wednesday Feb 26 & Feb 28, 2018 6:00pm – 9:00pm Monday/Wednesday Mar 26 & Mar 28, 2018 6:00pm – 9:00pm Cost: Free – PARTICIPANTS MUST PRE-REGISTER Location: FSCA – 5409 – 50th Avenue

These Triple P workshops will help parents navigate their way through parenthood and all of its challenges. This is a three week session looking at the five core principles of Positive Parenting.
