Family Services of Central Alberta is the catalyst behind the Central Alberta Children’s Festival; it is a way to bring some fun and quality time back to families as it can be hard to do in our increasingly busy lives. Some of our active performances were provided by: Central Alberta Rhythmic Gymnastics, Master Rim’s Taekwondo, JD’s Fabulous Feet, Dance Magic and many others. These energetic performances gave parents and kids alike an idea of what Red Deer offers for physical activity.
The festival has a wide range of activities, games, and performances, so it appeals to children of all ages. Activity tents from Red Deer organizations and community partners provided many opportunities for learning and creativity. Red Deer College showed us all about their 3D printer, Historic Fort Normandeau showed us the old fashioned way to wash our socks with a wash board, and the Red Deer Native Friendship Society shared cultural stories in their TeePee. Our face painting volunteers had a wonderful time painting faces of all ages and many children had fun as they made their way through the maze and obstacle courses and dancing to all of the live music. Once again THANK YOU to everyone that joined us for the 11th Children’s Festival, we had such a good time. See you in 2018 for the 12th Annual Alberta Children’s Festival on June 1st and 2nd 2018.
