This time of year my heart if full and my eyes are forever watering as I see people in our community pulling together to “GIVE” Non-profits all over rely on the generosity of their communities not just on Giving Tuesday, or at Christmas or even during their special event, but help is needed all year. I use to always think that giving to an organization meant I needed to give cash, but over the past 18 years as I have worked in non-profit I have seen the value of a donation of time almost as equal as a gift of cash. Don’t get me wrong we always need cash, but when I look at our organization I see, a group of wonderful ladies who give their time to help organize and make Gifts for Grandparents happen. Our Children’s Festival planning committee again has a great group of Community members who give their time all year to plan, and then make it happen. We have regular volunteers who help us out in our programs, a great support. I can’t forget the Board members who meet monthly to support the operation of the agency. I am thankful every day for all of them. So if you are thinking of giving and are struggling with how to do that consider a donation of time, a cash donation no matter how big or how small will make a difference for any non-profit organization that you support. So on this Giving Tuesday I challenge you to “Give a Gift of Giving”
