Physical literacy is the development of fundamental movement and sport skills. These skills allow children to move confidently and competently in a wide range of physical activity and sport situations. Physical literacy also includes the ability to ‘read’ what’s going on in particular situations and reacting appropriately when it comes to taking safe risks and dizzy/ rough and tumble play. At Parkland mall we have set up an obstacle course to encourage children to test their physical limits.
Children will crawl, twirl, throw, balance, slide, climb, ride, and roll their way around the course working on developing their gross motor skills. ASQ information will be provided to families as a means to support their children in ensuring that they are meeting their developmental milestones in a timely manner. Join us any Tuesday in March starting March 1st at Parkland mall across from Ardene from 9:30-11:30 am.
